I’m like you – fitness is a part of my life. I’ve been in and around sports and fitness for as long as I can remember. When I started in endurance sports, I needed to figure out how to fuel my fitness, training, and racing. Nutrition was the answer.
Nutrition wasn’t my first career. My background was in business, specifically computers. From there I began a career as a civilian intelligence analyst in the federal government. Spanning these careers was my service as a Navy reservist. I spent a year on active duty in Washington, DC after the attacks on 9/11/2001. I served another year in Iraq in 2007. I apply all the things my prior professions taught me about logic, evidence, and assessment to my practice in nutrition.
I returned to school and completed my nutrition studies and dietetic internship at Montclair State University. I had the good fortune to spend part of my internship at the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Training Center in Lake Placid, NY, and part of my graduate studies working with collegiate student-athletes. These environments are where I learned to apply the science of nutrition to help optimize athletic performance.
I now have the honor of working with a range of athletes. I also work with individuals who are looking to optimize their fitness and athletic performance. I draw from my education and experience. My personal participation in endurance athletics helps me translate nutrition knowledge. I create practical solutions to the problems encountered by athletes and active adults.
